SFS is a non-profit organisation and multi-platform initiative dedicated to supporting students and graduates in the slow and sustainable fashion industry. Through a variety of services and projects, we provide the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to build a more ethical and sustainable fashion future.
SFS offers a diverse range of solutions, each tailored to different needs within the industry. Whether individuals or businesses are looking for mentorship, resources, collaborations, or professional opportunities, they can engage with one or multiple solutions that best support their journey in sustainable fashion.
Support of young slow fashion designers in business
The name Slow Fashion Show reflects our origins—we started as a fashion event dedicated to promoting sustainability. Over time, we expanded beyond events, developing a multi-platform initiative that supports students, graduates, and emerging designers in the slow and sustainable fashion industry.
Although our organisation has grown, we have chosen to keep the original name for now. However, we are planning a rebrand within the next 1–2 years to better reflect our evolving mission. At present, our primary focus is on the ongoing projects and initiatives that drive meaningful change in the fashion industry.
SFS was founded in 2019, during fashion designer Monika Pizur’s (CEO and Founder of SFS) internship at the Czech Centre in Stockholm. Inspired by the need for greater sustainability in the fashion industry, Monika proposed the idea of organising a slow and sustainable fashion show. This vision became a reality with the first Slow Fashion Show in March 2020.
During this event, Monika met Alex Levchenko (Co-founder of SFS). Their shared passion for sustainable fashion led them to reconnect after the pandemic and, in 2022, they once again collaborated with the Czech Centre to organise another show as part of the SFS project, FOCUS: Wear Sustainably.
Shortly before SFS22, they met Ebba Aniansson, who quickly became an active and integral part of the team, contributing to the success of the event.
What began as a single event has grown into a global vision—establishing Slow Fashion Show as an international platform and non-profit organisation, officially registered in April 2023.
The third edition of SFS took place in March 2024 as a two-day event, expanding beyond the runway to offer a more immersive experience. In addition to showcasing the work of talented designers, the event featured a full schedule of insightful speakers and panel discussions focused on sustainable and slow fashion.
SFS24 also introduced a marketplace, offering a curated selection of sustainable fashion, accessories, cosmetics, and retail products, further reinforcing our commitment to ethical and conscious consumption.
With mind (Monika), head (Alex), and voice (Ebba) driving our mission, we have expanded SFS into a multi-platform organisation, launching eight key projects to date.
Step by step, with the dedication of volunteers and interns, we are bringing these initiatives to life, allowing SFS to grow while staying true to its core purpose—supporting young fashion designers in achieving their career goals.
